About the role#
Bristol Virginia Public Schools is seeking a high school student to support their Finance and Human Resources departments. This internship is part of the EO Ignite Internships program and is open exclusively to students currently enrolled in the Bristol Virginia Public Schools district. You will gain hands-on experience with professional office operations and district administrative functions.
What you'll do#
- File and maintain records, including documents with confidential personnel and financial information.
- Assist with front desk operations, such as answering phones and directing visitors.
- Scan, copy, and shred sensitive documents following office procedures.
- Support general office tasks like inventory tracking and organizing supplies.
- Complete special projects as assigned by department staff.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a high school student in the Bristol Virginia Public Schools district.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated responsibility and attention to detail.
- A willingness to maintain confidentiality and use discretion at all times.
- Familiarity with standard office equipment like printers and copiers.
- An interest in business, finance, public administration, or human resources.

- This is a remote, part-time position.
- The role is a paid internship at a rate of 12.77 per hour.
- Hiring decisions are made by Bristol Virginia Public Schools personnel.
