About the role#
This 12-week paid internship supports the Global Applications documentation initiative. You will help build a centralized repository for SAP and JD Edwards systems by documenting business processes, system customizations, and technical dependencies. You will work with subject matter experts to establish a repeatable, AI-assisted process for managing application knowledge.
What you'll do#
- Review SAP and JDE custom objects, metadata, and existing documentation to understand current system functionality.
- Research historical artifacts, including Jira items, change tickets, CAB records, and testing documentation.
- Identify documentation gaps and find ways to improve the quality and accessibility of system records.
- Use approved AI tools to create technical summaries, process flows, draft specifications, and dependency inventories.
- Maintain and organize documentation repositories to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate reviews with subject matter experts to gather feedback and finalize deliverables.
- Support initiatives to standardize documentation practices and improve knowledge transfer across teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029 with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
- Basic knowledge of AI and generative AI tools.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written communication and technical documentation abilities.
- Basic understanding of programming concepts, databases, and system integrations.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, code, and configuration artifacts.
- Experience collaborating with subject matter experts.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Mission Viejo, California.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- The pay scale for this position is $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and geography.
