About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in transportation brokerage operations. You will work under supervision to learn about market dynamics, carrier negotiation, and the tools used to deliver logistics solutions. The role focuses on building a carrier base and managing shipment execution.
What you'll do#
- Support daily transportation brokerage activities.
- Verify carrier authenticity and maintain accurate shipment records.
- Monitor freight movement to meet service expectations.
- Build an understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges.
- Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers.
- Communicate service failures to reduce costs and operational inefficiencies.
- Learn to use technology and tools that streamline workflows.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, preferably in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
- Junior or Senior academic standing is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and directives.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week during the summer.
