About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Truckload department. You will work with teams focused on third-party brokerage, equipment planning, or the oversight of independent drivers. This role offers exposure to transportation market dynamics, resource coordination, and technology integration.
What you'll do#
- Gain an understanding of the transportation industry.
- Participate in freight planning, asset utilization, safety management, and DOT compliance.
- Assist with carrier verification and maintenance coordination.
- Analyze market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges to support revenue goals.
- Monitor trailing equipment needs to maintain pools and promote asset utilization.
- Learn to use internal technology and tools to streamline workflows and manage freight volume.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and directives.
- Junior or Senior level standing is preferred.
