About the role#
The I.T. & A. Endpoint Team is hiring technicians to help faculty, staff, and students with hardware and software maintenance. This is a paid, part-time position. You will gain professional experience by supporting the college's computing environment. While basic computer literacy is recommended, no previous experience is required to apply.
What you'll do#
- Assist with computer replacement, deployment, and equipment moves.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for computer equipment and accessories.
- Provide support to clients for basic computer issues and technical questions.
- Visit computer labs and offices to resolve technical problems.
- Maintain the college computer inventory.
- Use Microsoft Office products, including Teams and Excel, for communication and record keeping.
- Track and manage client requests using the internal ticketing system.
What you'll need#
- Advanced knowledge of Windows and Macintosh platforms.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Zoom, and other workplace applications.
- Understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems while working directly with users.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Location & details#
- Location: Job Hall, Ithaca, New York.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: 6-12 hours per week, typically in blocks of 2 hours or more.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
- Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.
- Note: This position is subject to a criminal background check.
