About the role#
Join our firmware quality team to test embedded software inside Class II cardiac monitoring devices and their supporting desktop applications. You will learn how quality engineers examine requirements, design tests, document evidence, and investigate failures before software reaches patients. This is a full-time, six-month co-op assignment for a current student.
What you'll do#
- Perform manual system-level, functional, and acceptance testing on embedded systems software written in C and C#/.NET desktop applications.
- Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing teams to define and implement testing strategies.
- Develop written verification test protocols and report results against functional and customer requirements.
- Review requirements and design documentation to ensure technical accuracy and testability.
- Analyze and test field failures to establish repeatability.
- Work with the development team to identify root causes and verify corrections.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in progress, with a preference for Electrical or Computer Engineering coursework.
- Experience with electronic test equipment including power supplies, DMMs, and oscilloscopes.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and firmware issues on circuits and hardware.
- Exposure to QA principles and processes, particularly within medical devices or other regulated environments.
- Knowledge of verification, validation, and documentation requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Effective written communication skills.
