About the role#
Join our embedded software test team as an Embedded SDET Co-Op. You will help ensure our cardiac monitoring technology performs reliably where software meets hardware. This role involves working within an established test framework to make testing more efficient and repeatable. You will gain exposure to requirements-based testing, defect investigation, and the medical device software development lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Implement automated workflows within our test framework.
- Integrate internal tools from other teams into our existing framework.
- Learn how our firmware performs at the system level.
- Gain familiarity with requirements, test cases, and manual test methods.
- Improve your programming skills through code reviews and test development.
- Partner with other engineers to identify, understand, and correct bugs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with PEP 8 coding standards.
- Understanding of OOA, OOD, OOP, and OOT principles.
- Familiarity with version control systems like git and release methodologies.
- Strong debugging skills and a detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team.
- A desire to understand how devices work and how they fail.
- Appreciation for producing quality software and requirements-based testing.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Term: Full-time assignment from January through June 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $35.00 per hour.
