About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in information technology within a healthcare setting. You will work under the guidance of senior technical staff to support department functions and project goals. This role is designed to help you build a foundational understanding of IT support and system maintenance while you contribute to the daily operations of the facility.
What you'll do#
- Deploy, support, maintain, and troubleshoot computers and related hardware.
- Document technical notes and issue resolutions within the ITIL ticketing system.
- Respond to service requests and messages based on established priority schedules.
- Assist with the support of new and existing systems.
- Implement enterprise-defined security policies for hardware and software.
- Participate in various projects that support the needs of the department and hospital.
- Update support staff on the status of ongoing incidents and service requests.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email applications.
- Strong research, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to solve problems in a sensitive and professional manner.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift, transport, and maneuver IT equipment, including the ability to climb stairs or work in confined spaces as required for equipment installation.

- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid position ($17.68 - $24.75 per hour).
