About the role#
This is a paid, PRN Pharmacy Intern position at Intermountain Health Park City Hospital. Interns work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain experience in pharmaceutical care across acute, community, ambulatory, and specialty settings. This role requires rotating weekends, some holidays, and potential weekday coverage.
What you'll do#
- Provide service to support patients, pharmacists, and healthcare professionals.
- Communicate effectively with caregivers and stakeholders regarding responsibilities and concerns.
- Deliver medications and information in a professional and timely manner.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and team initiatives.
- Assist pharmacists in the execution of safe and efficient pharmaceutical care.
- Provide patient education and counseling under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Serve as a preceptor and mentor for pharmacy technicians.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, regulations, and facility policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- A pharmacy intern license applicable to the state of practice (must be obtained by the first day of work).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification as appropriate to the practice site.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google, with the ability to learn new applications.
