About the role#
Join our team as an actuarial intern to build your professional skills within the insurance industry. You will work alongside mentors and experienced leaders to gain a practical understanding of our business. What you'll do#
- Deepen your knowledge of the insurance industry by collaborating with teams in underwriting, marketing, risk management, and finance.
- Participate in development projects and share your findings, methods, and recommendations through summaries and presentations.
- Monitor the profitability and competitiveness of insurance portfolios to help prepare future action plans.
- Evaluate how emerging trends, such as climate change or geopolitical shifts, affect risk profiles and business responses.
- Apply actuarial techniques to support adequate reserves, appropriate reinsurance levels, and sufficient capital across various scenarios.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives, including machine learning and telematics, to improve pricing models for personal and commercial insurance.
What you'll need#
- Current university enrollment in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- A strong interest in technology, innovation, and computing.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English to interact with colleagues across the country.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, along with the ability to work well within a team.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship position based in Quebec, Canada.
- The role is on-site, requiring you to be in the office at least two days per week.
- We are hiring for terms in Winter 2027, Fall 2027, and Summer 2027.
- Candidates must be active students throughout the duration of the internship.
