About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in business analysis within the life insurance industry. You will work alongside Business Analysts, developers, and stakeholders to learn how technology supports business operations. This position runs during the Summer 2027 term and is based on-site in Indianapolis.
What you'll do#
- Learn about life insurance administration systems, Agile methodologies, and technology-driven business processes.
- Research production incidents and system issues to document findings and resolutions.
- Review data and investigate discrepancies to build analytical skills.
- Help create and execute test scenarios to validate system functionality.
- Document test results, defects, and testing activities.
- Support regression testing and maintain testing documentation.
- Assist in gathering business requirements, user stories, and process workflows.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with project teams.
- Analyze information from various sources and organize findings into clear documentation.
- Contribute to team projects and departmental goals.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
- A research-oriented mindset and a desire to investigate issues.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning.
- Willingness to ask questions and understand how systems work.
- Interest in documentation, business writing, and data organization.
- Experience with Jira, software testing tools, Microsoft Office Suite, or insurance administration systems is a plus.
- Experience in banking, insurance, investment, or financial services is a plus.
