About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Claims Department at Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance. You will gain exposure to claims operations and develop professional skills by working alongside our teams during the summer of 2027. This is a paid, part-time position based on-site in Indianapolis.
What you'll do#
Your first two weeks involve training on auto insurance policies, industry terminology, and claims systems. Once trained, you will primarily support the Auto Total Loss team. Your daily tasks will include:
- Reviewing vehicle photographs and related information to evaluate damage.
- Assisting with Total Loss Valuations.
- Supporting administrative and operational tasks to help the team run efficiently.
- Working on projects designed to improve workflow and customer service.
- Contributing to initiatives across other areas of the Claims Department as business needs arise.
What you'll need#
We are looking for students pursuing degrees in Business Administration, Agriculture, or related fields. You should be able to work on-site and demonstrate the following:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to organize information, manage multiple priorities, and interpret detailed data accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A detail-oriented approach and a commitment to quality work.
- Professionalism and the ability to interact effectively with various individuals.
- A curious mindset, dependability, and a willingness to ask questions.
- Adaptability and openness to feedback for continuous improvement.
