About the role#
IKO North America is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Co-Op for a 12-month contract at our facility in Hawkesbury, Ontario. You will work with the plant maintenance team to support daily operations and capital projects. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the plant maintenance team, including managers, supervisors, millwrights, and electricians.
- Shadow millwrights and electricians to document maintenance standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Assist the reliability engineer in reviewing current preventative and predictive maintenance activities, refining tasks to ensure asset health.
- Perform spare parts optimization to support inspection tasks for critical assets.
- Help the maintenance manager with project management duties, such as tendering, planning, installation, and commissioning.
- Prepare drawings and models for various projects and ensure existing documentation is updated.
- Work on additional engineering projects to support plant operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate engineering program, specifically Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- A commitment to the health and safety of all employees and visitors.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Critical thinking skills and a high level of organization.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks is considered an asset, as is a background in troubleshooting.
Location & details#
- Location: Hawkesbury, ON.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $23.50 to $26.50 per hour.
