About the role#
IKO North America is seeking a Lab Technician Co-Op for the Summer 2026 term. This position requires a commitment of 8 to 12 months. The role supports laboratory operations by performing routine tests, maintaining equipment, assisting with research projects, and ensuring compliance with established safety and quality standards.
What you'll do#
- Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions for analysis according to standard procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments following standard operating procedures and relevant standards.
- Accurately record and report test results in a timely manner.
- Receive samples, record them in the database, and ensure timely shipment to the relevant plant after assessments.
- Follow all laboratory health and safety protocols, best practices, and guidelines.
- Coordinate with other technicians to complete tasks according to the planned schedule.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Support technicians and scientists in ongoing projects.
What you'll need#
- Senior student status in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to support team tasks.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities in routine tasks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective team interaction.
- Ability to occasionally lift materials between 25 and 50 lbs.
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment is considered an asset.

- Compensation: $22 to $25 per hour.
