Lab Technician Co-Op

About the role#

IKO North America is seeking a Lab Technician Co-Op for the Summer 2026 term. This position supports laboratory operations by performing routine testing, maintaining equipment, and assisting with various research projects. The role requires a commitment of 8 or 12 months.

What you'll do#

• Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions for analysis according to standard procedures.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments following standard operating procedures and relevant standards.
• Accurately record and report test results in a timely manner.
• Receive samples, record them in the database, and manage shipment to plants after assessments.
• Follow all laboratory health and safety protocols, guidelines, and internal policies.
• Coordinate with technicians and scientists to complete tasks efficiently and support ongoing projects.

What you'll need#

• Senior student status in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective team interaction.
• Ability to occasionally lift materials weighing between 25 and 50 lbs.
• Previous experience in a laboratory environment is considered an asset.
