About the role#
IKO North America is hiring an Engineering Co-Op or Intern to join our team in Chester, South Carolina. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work within our Engineering and Maintenance department to support the research, development, and quality control of chopped fiberglass materials used in our roofing products.
What you'll do#
- Research the properties and applications of chopped fiberglass.
- Analyze mechanical, thermal, and chemical material properties.
- Develop new material formulations or improve existing ones.
- Source high-quality materials by working with suppliers.
- Partner with design and production teams to boost product performance.
- Optimize manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Set up and run quality control procedures to meet industry standards.
- Keep engineering documentation and reports accurate and current.
- Communicate technical details to team members and non-technical stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- You are a Junior or Senior student specializing in Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science, or Industrial Engineering.
- You have advanced skills in MS Excel, plus proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- You possess strong critical thinking skills and are highly organized.
- You are fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Manufacturing experience and troubleshooting skills are helpful assets.
