About the role#
This internship is a full-time position based in Markham, Ontario, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on enterprise platform solutions, contributing to projects that span client-server architectures, networking, and database management. The role is hybrid and requires a commitment to the full 8-month program duration.
What you'll do#
- Participate in Agile development cycles, including design, coding, testing, and support.
- Build large-scale systems that support continuous delivery across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Design and deploy Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service solutions.
- Create clean, well-documented, and intuitive APIs.
- Transform wireframes into functional user experiences.
- Apply software engineering and testing best practices to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Integrate AI capabilities and use AI-powered tools to improve development efficiency and platform scalability.
- Design and develop scalable server applications, firmware, and databases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Prior project or internship experience in software development or platform engineering.
- Working knowledge of servers, applications, databases, and DevOps tools like Git and Jenkins.
- Experience or working knowledge of cloud development and virtualization concepts.
- Familiarity with Generative AI applications in development, including prompt engineering.
- Proficiency in one or more of these languages: C++, C, Java, Golang, Ruby, Python, Perl, or SQL.
- Working knowledge of MongoDB, MySQL, or Postgres.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A growth mindset with a focus on teamwork, resourcefulness, and outcomes.
