About the role#
This is a 16-week, full-time Co-op position based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. You will join an engineering team building technologies for AI agents, large language models, and cloud-native AI systems. You will work alongside experienced engineers to design, build, test, and operate software that improves the behavior of AI applications. This role requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, development, testing, and debugging of software across front-end, back-end, and full-stack environments.
- Build capabilities that help developers evaluate, observe, debug, and optimize AI agents and generative AI applications.
- Analyze AI behaviors including tool usage, execution traces, latency, quality, and cost.
- Develop automated evaluation and testing systems for AI applications.
- Build services and APIs that process telemetry and evaluation data.
- Contribute to SDKs and integrations for AI models and agent runtimes.
- Work with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C++, Go, Rust, Swift, and Kotlin.
- Build user interfaces using frameworks like React.
- Work with cloud and container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and REST APIs.
- Use Git, CI/CD pipelines, and other collaboration tools.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and Agile development.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Intent to return to school to complete your degree after the Co-op.
- Availability for a full-time, 16-week commitment during the Winter 2027 term.
- Ability to start a full-time role between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Coursework or project experience in software development using at least one programming language.
- Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, debugging, and software design.
- Exposure to front-end or back-end technologies such as React, Node.js, Python, Java, SQL, or Go.
- Experience with Git or similar version-control systems.
- Interest in AI systems, large language models, cloud computing, and distributed systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with AI frameworks like LangGraph, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
- Experience or exposure to LLM evaluation, tracing, observability, or model optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud services, REST APIs, and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of Agile software development methods.
