About the role#
As a Site Reliability Engineer Intern, you will work in a collaborative environment to build, deploy, configure, and maintain systems for IBM clients. You will lead the problem resolution process from initial analysis through to deployment of fixes. This role involves handling day-to-day operations, including alert management, incident support, migration tasks, and break-fix support.
What you'll do#
- Monitor the health of production systems and services around the clock.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and Product support to assess and resolve production issues.
- Deploy services and configuration changes using CI/CD tools.
- Apply security patches and system upgrades.
- Streamline processes and reduce manual toil through automation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Experience or knowledge of Python, Go, or Bash.
- Familiarity with cloud providers such as IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift environments.
- Knowledge of automation and CI/CD tools, including Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
- Experience creating alerts and dashboards using tools like Instana, New Relic, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Interest or experience in configuring and maintaining SQL, NoSQL, and data streaming technologies.
