About the role#
As a Hardware Developer Intern focused on Systems Assurance, you will work on the infrastructure powering future technology. You will contribute to the design, testing, and support of hardware systems, including zSystems, Power Systems, Storage, and Quantum Systems. This role involves working with global teams to ensure system reliability and performance.
What you'll do#
- Install and test hardware systems hands-on.
- Validate and characterize processors and systems.
- Design and test firmware architectures.
- Analyze failures to improve system reliability.
- Automate test suites and simulate customer environments.
- Install, configure, and validate AI Large Language Models.
- Develop and document test plans and procedures.
- Support customers and field engineers with technical solutions.
- Contribute to internal and external code repositories.
- Collaborate with global development teams.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Understanding of client-server architectures and networking protocols.
- Experience with application development and databases.
- Ability to design scalable APIs, servers, services, and applications.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Strong communication, design, and testing skills.
- Curiosity, creativity, and a client-first mindset.
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering principles.
