About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern at Hy-Vee, you will gain hands-on experience in a pharmacy setting while working toward your degree. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to support patient care and pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, friendly service to every customer.
- Fill and process prescriptions while following state and federal regulations.
- Prepare prescription labels and containers.
- Manage inventory tasks including ordering, stocking, and checking invoices.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Up to six months of related work experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform arithmetic and algebraic calculations.
- Strong discretion when handling confidential patient information.
