About the role#
The Human Resources Intern supports the HR team at our corporate office in West Des Moines. This part-time position runs during the Summer 2027 term. You will assist with administrative HR processes, maintain employee records, and provide service to our staff. This role requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly service to employees.
- Assist with the onboarding process, including new hire orientation and creating files.
- Input, update, and manage employee information in our workforce management system.
- Help process terminations and handle employment verifications.
- File documents and maintain accurate employee records.
- Gather information for subpoenas and submit to legal.
- Provide standard reports to management.
- Conduct facility tours for schools and civic groups.
- Coordinate or assist with company events.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an associates or bachelors degree program is preferred, ideally in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interview, counsel, and advise people.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems and perform arithmetic calculations.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
