About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for the Winter 2027 term, running from February through April. You will work on-site at our offices to gain hands-on experience in public accounting, specifically focusing on tax preparation during our busy season. You will be paired with experienced tax professionals who provide guidance, review your work, and help you grow your technical skills through our formal buddy program.
What you'll do#
- Prepare individual income tax returns, specifically Form 1040.
- Assist with more complex returns, including personal property tax, business, and partnership filings.
- Create trial balances, workpapers, and depreciation schedules using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Learn and follow firm policies, quality standards, and procedures.
- Develop an understanding of AICPA rules, regulations, and the Code of Professional Conduct.
- Communicate project updates and questions to the tax team.
- Build relationships with professionals across the firm by participating in company activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or recent graduation from an undergraduate or graduate program in accounting or a related field.
- A preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, and accept feedback.
- Ability to work well with others in a professional setting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.

- This internship is located on-site in Grand Rapids, Greenville, Muskegon, Holland, or St. Joseph, Michigan.
- This is a paid position.
