About the role#
As a Winter Tax Intern, you will gain hands-on experience preparing individual income tax returns while learning how a public accounting firm operates during tax season. You will work alongside members of our tax team who provide guidance, review your work, and help you build your technical and professional skills. You will also participate in our formal Buddy Program to help you succeed throughout your internship.
What you'll do#
- Prepare individual income tax returns (Form 1040).
- Assist with more complex individual returns, personal property tax returns, and business or partnership returns.
- Prepare trial balances, workpapers, and depreciation schedules.
- Follow firm policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Develop an understanding of the rules, regulations, and Code of Professional Conduct established by the AICPA.
- Communicate questions and project updates to members of the tax team.
- Participate in firm activities and build relationships with professionals across the organization.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate, graduate, nontraditional student, or recent graduate.
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in accounting or a related field.
- Preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
