    About the role#

    The Hudson Institute is seeking a Research Intern for the Center for Peace and Security in the Middle East for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports Senior Fellow Mike Doran and the broader team with research and administrative tasks. Interns gain exposure to critical policy issues in the Middle East and North Africa through direct engagement with regional experts and attendance at public and internal events.

    What you'll do#

    • Gather and analyze data for reports, articles, and briefing memos.
    • Write literature reviews based on research findings.
    • Monitor and update the team on current events.
    • Assist with research projects, presentations, and the drafting of op-eds.
    • Manage administrative duties and maintain department contact databases.
    • Provide support for public events and internal scholar discussions.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in History, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Civil Engineering, Sociology, or related fields.
    • Demonstrated interest in diplomacy issues concerning the Middle East or North Africa.
    • Strong research, writing, editing, and analysis skills.
    • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
    • High level of attention to detail and professional reliability.
    • Proficiency in Hebrew, Persian, Mandarin, or Russian is considered an asset.
