About the role#
The Hudson Institute is seeking a Research Intern to support the work of Senior Fellow Mike Doran within the Center for Peace and Security in the Middle East. This role offers exposure to critical policy issues in the Middle East and North Africa through research, administrative support, and engagement with regional experts. Interns working on-site may assist with and attend public events, as well as participate in intern-specific programming featuring scholars and experts.
What you'll do#
- Gather and analyze data for reports, articles, and briefing memos.
- Write literature reviews based on research findings.
- Monitor and update the team on current events.
- Assist with research projects, presentations, op-eds, and administrative tasks.
- Create and maintain databases of department contacts.
- Provide support for events hosted by the institute.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in history, political science, international relations, economics, security studies, Middle Eastern studies, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in diplomacy issues concerning the Middle East and North Africa.
- Strong research, writing, editing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail, reliability, and professional communication skills.
- Proficiency in Hebrew, Persian, Mandarin, or Russian is considered an asset.
