About the role#
Howmet Aerospace is looking for a legal intern to join our team for an 8-week program in the Summer of 2027. You will work from our corporate office in Pittsburgh, PA, with a hybrid schedule that includes remote work on Tuesdays and Fridays. This is a paid, full-time opportunity where you will gain experience in areas including corporate law, contract management, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation, and regulatory compliance. You will also have the chance to network with employees, attend social activities, and visit one of our manufacturing plants.
What you'll do#
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts.
- Prepare briefing documents, risk assessments, and policy updates.
- Assist in regulatory filings and compliance monitoring.
- Support litigation and dispute resolution efforts.
- Conduct legal research.
- Perform due diligence reviews.
- Participate in team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a JD program at an accredited law school, ideally as a rising 3L in the Summer of 2027.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience through internships, work, research, or extracurricular participation.
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive and self-motivated attitude.
Location & details#
- Location: Pittsburgh, PA.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June, July, or August).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (remote on Tuesdays and Fridays).
- Compensation: Estimated at $5,000 per month.
- Relocation: A $3,500 stipend is available for students located 50+ miles from Pittsburgh.
- Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
