About the role#
As a Civil Engineer Intern, you will split your time between office-based design tasks and field-based construction activities. We aim to personalize your experience based on your interests, which may include drainage analysis, roadway design, geometric layout, or erosion control.
What you'll do#
- Assist with research, development, and design of various projects.
- Prepare plan specifications, estimates, and documentation for construction activities.
- Update redlines and create drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Use software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and ArcGIS.
- Operate electronic survey instruments like GPS and Total Station.
- Collect data and observe project sites.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agriculture, or related engineering program.
- Completed coursework in AutoCAD and general surveying is preferred.
- Strong math and communication skills.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel overnight.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods.
