    About the role#

    Horton, Inc. is hiring an Application Engineering Co-op to work at our corporate headquarters in Roseville, Minnesota. You will support the integration of existing products into new applications while working under the guidance of a manager and a full-time engineer mentor. This role involves design, analysis, test planning, and system testing to ensure our products meet performance and reliability targets. You will use testing results and analysis tools to approve product applications and make recommendations.

    What you'll do#

    • Model and draft concepts into functional designs.
    • Conduct computer aided analysis of new concepts using FEA or CFD tools.
    • Test materials and concepts while working with test lab staff to document results.
    • Develop test designs to measure product quality and function.
    • Provide technical expertise to improve existing product designs.
    • Authorize product design revisions.
    • Support the modification of existing products to meet specific customer requirements.
    • Handle other duties as assigned.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree program.
    • Completion of at least 2 years of coursework with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
    • Junior or Senior status.
    • Strong initiative, leadership, and decision-making skills.
    • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Clear communication skills.
    • A positive, get-it-done attitude.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
