About the role#
The Research Intern in Translational Science supports the HonorHealth Research Institute by bridging basic research with clinical practice. You will work alongside a Principal Investigator or Senior Researcher to assist with laboratory experiments, data analysis, and study documentation. This role provides hands-on experience in biomarker discovery, drug target evaluation, and the development of new diagnostics.
What you'll do#
- Process biological samples, including blood and tissue, using molecular techniques such as IHC, PCR, Western blots, and cell culture.
- Analyze bioinformatics data, build predictive models, and perform quality control on datasets.
- Assist with protocol design, document drafting, and the management of study data for preclinical or clinical projects.
- Conduct literature reviews to summarize existing research and scholarly articles.
- Prepare progress reports, presentations, and summaries for ongoing research projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in a scientific discipline, such as Biology, Psychology, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- A foundational understanding of biology and familiarity with research methodologies.
- Practical experience with molecular biology and biochemical techniques.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, such as R or Python.

- Location: Medical Office Building, 850 N 5th St, Phoenix, AZ.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time.
- Status: Paid internship with rolling start dates.
