About the role#
Home of the Innocents is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Student to join the Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to provide respiratory care to children and young adults with complex medical needs. This position offers hands-on experience in a clinical setting while you complete your studies.
What you'll do#
- Perform respiratory care procedures including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, humidification, and bronchopulmonary hygiene.
- Collaborate with Respiratory Therapists, Pulmonologists, and the care team to implement individualized care plans.
- Advocate for resident engagement in daily activities.
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, employee health standards, and required training.
What you'll need#
- Current Kentucky-certified Respiratory Therapy Student status.
- CPR or Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to think critically and communicate effectively with others.
- Interest in working with diverse populations.
- Ability to safely move, lift, or assist up to 65 lbs.
