About the role#
The Data Analyst Intern supports informed decision-making by extracting insights from various data sources. You will assist project teams and departments by developing reporting tools, cleaning data, and preparing construction data for data science initiatives. This internship requires a work commitment of approximately 20 hours per week during the school year.
What you'll do#
- Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources for reporting and analysis.
- Monitor and improve data quality through cleaning processes.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Support data science efforts, including identifying construction activities suitable for machine learning or Python automation.
- Assist with data strategy tasks such as updating flowcharts and creating data swim lanes.
- Document meeting minutes and manage action items.
- Participate in professional development through online coursework.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering (Data, Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial).
- High School diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience with data analysis tools including MS Power BI and Python.
- Ability to work well in a team and maintain a cooperative attitude.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
