About the role#
This is a full-time, paid co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site in Boston, MA, supporting our Stormwater and Utilities Design group. You will help design and develop infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced engineers to mitigate flooding and manage utility networks.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and analysis of stormwater management systems, such as green infrastructure, detention ponds, and drainage networks.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop stormwater management plans that meet environmental standards.
- Support the design of water supply, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance systems.
- Use design software to create and modify project elements.
- Attend site visits and conduct surveys to assess conditions and gather data.
- Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and construction drawings.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams, including landscape architects and environmental engineers.
- Participate in design review meetings and assist with project research and development.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
- Basic understanding of engineering, algebraic, and geometric principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for drawings.
- Ability to accept and apply direction from supervisors and peers.
- Understanding of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
- Completion of at least two years of a civil engineering program is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred.
- A strong interest in infrastructure and transportation is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Boston, MA (On-site).
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Pay: $25.28 to $37.92 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
