About the role#
As a Roadway Design co-op, you will contribute to the design and development of highway and roadway projects. These projects range from small intersection improvements to large interchanges and bridge reconstruction. You will work alongside experienced engineers through all stages of the design process, from initial concepts to final construction plans.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design of highway projects, including geometric design, alignment layout, and cross-sections.
- Prepare roadway design elements such as profiles and corridors using Civil 3D.
- Support the development of specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Assist project managers in preparing conceptual, preliminary, and final designs with supporting documentation.
- Create presentation materials for meetings and help coordinate public workshops.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural and environmental engineers.
- Perform research and assist with the preparation of engineering drawings and documents.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary Civil Engineering program.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and organize information for technical documents.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Completion of 2 years of a post-secondary Civil Engineering program is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred.
- A strong interest in transportation and infrastructure is preferred.

- Compensation: This position is paid, with an approximate pay range of $25.28 to $37.92 per hour.
