About the role#
This entry-level position is designed for 2026 high school seniors or graduates. As a Stage Builder, you will support the construction, installation, and dismantling of temporary staging systems and scaffolding used in shipbuilding. You will work under direct supervision to ensure safe and efficient access to vessels and work areas throughout the shipyard.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the erection and dismantling of staging and scaffolding structures according to safety standards and blueprints.
- Transport, organize, and stage materials including planks, pipes, couplers, and ladders.
- Inspect all materials and equipment for damage or defects before use.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with shipyard and OSHA regulations.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced team members to complete assigned tasks.
- Support other trades by building safe access platforms as needed.
What you'll need#
- Ability to work at extreme heights or in small, confined spaces.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
- Physical capability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb.
- Willingness and ability to work any shift.
- Must be able to take and pass a respirator fit test.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

- Compensation: This is a paid position with a salary range of $50,856 to $55,640. A $500 sign-on bonus is available for external new hires, and a $500 relocation bonus is available for those living 50 miles or greater from the work site.
