About the role#
This entry-level position is designed for 2026 high school graduates or seniors. You will support the construction, installation, and dismantling of temporary staging and scaffolding systems required for shipbuilding. Working under direct supervision, you will ensure safe and efficient access to vessels and work areas throughout the shipyard.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the erection and dismantling of scaffolding structures according to safety standards and blueprints.
- Transport, organize, and stage materials including planks, pipes, couplers, and ladders.
- Inspect all materials and equipment for damage or defects before use.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with shipyard and OSHA regulations.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced team members to complete assigned tasks.
- Support other trades by building safe access platforms as needed.
What you'll need#
- Ability to work at extreme heights or in small, confined spaces.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
- Capability to perform physical movements including kneeling, squatting, crawling, bending, stooping, and climbing.
- Must be able to take and pass a respirator fit test.
- Must be available to work any shift.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time role.
- Compensation: This position is paid and includes a sign-on bonus for external new hires, as well as a relocation bonus for those living 50 miles or more from the work site.
