About the role#
HII is seeking a Corporate Legal Intern for the summer of 2027. This internship is based in Arlington, Virginia, and runs for a minimum of 10 weeks. You will work a 40-hour week on-site. The program provides exposure to the daily responsibilities of in-house counsel at a publicly traded company.
What you'll do#
- Attend law department staff meetings and meetings with business units.
- Review Teaming Agreements and Nondisclosure Agreements.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
- Draft letters and other necessary legal documents.
- Participate in meetings with outside counsel.
- Complete additional assignments as requested by the legal team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Juris Doctorate program at an accredited law school.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Commitment to continuing your Juris Doctorate program in the fall following the internship.
- Interest or coursework in areas such as government contracting, commercial contracts, labor and employment, intellectual property, corporate law, compliance, litigation, or in-house practice.
- US citizenship is required for this position.
