About the role#
This is a full-time internship based in Washington, DC for the Summer 2027 term. You will work directly with the Senior Director of Government Relations to support congressional engagement, executive branch outreach, and policy research. This role involves drafting materials for senior leadership and external stakeholders regarding our hypersonic flight test mission.
What you'll do#
- Track and summarize congressional legislation, hearings, and markup activity involving hypersonic testing, missile defense, and Pentagon priorities.
- Research Members of Congress, congressional staff, and executive branch officials to identify activities that may affect the company.
- Draft briefing memos, one-pagers, and meeting preparation materials.
- Support meetings with congressional staff, Department of War officials, and allied government representatives.
- Maintain government relations tracking systems, including contact databases and distribution lists.
- Monitor open-source intelligence on hypersonic technology, the defense industrial base, and competitor activity.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising junior, senior, or graduate student in political science, public policy, government, international affairs, defense studies, engineering policy, or a related field.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to summarize complex material accurately.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Familiarity with the congressional process and U.S. defense policy is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance is a plus.
