About the role#
Stratolaunch is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineering Intern to support data collection, reporting, and digital system improvements. You will work alongside operations, engineering, quality, and IT teams to organize production data and refine manufacturing processes. This is a 10 to 12-week internship during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Gather and validate data related to production, quality, downtime, labor, inventory, and equipment.
- Create reports, charts, and dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Track key manufacturing metrics including output, scrap, cycle time, and quality performance.
- Maintain data files, reports, and documentation.
- Support the documentation of manufacturing workflows and data-collection processes.
- Identify data gaps, reporting errors, and opportunities to improve data accuracy.
- Assist with user testing, documentation, and training materials for manufacturing software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Status as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior planning to enter graduate school.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data organization.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python is preferred.
- Exposure to manufacturing metrics or familiarity with ERP, MES, or inventory software is a plus.
- A strong attention to detail and an interest in process improvement.

- This role is based on-site in Mojave, California.
- The internship is a full-time position.
- This is a paid internship.
