About the role#
HII is hiring a Corporate Business Management Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based at the corporate office in Newport News, Virginia. You will work 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close processes and reporting.
- Generate and interpret financial reports.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliation using Blackline software.
- Help with the tie-out process for quarterly footnotes and supporting work papers.
- Log monthly intercompany accounting transfers and reconcile balances.
- Develop your professional communication, networking, and business writing skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year college or university, or a 2+2 program.
- Status as a rising Junior or above, or current enrollment in a Master's program.
- A major in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Tax Accounting.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Plans to attend school in the fall following the internship.
- Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills.
- US citizenship.
