About the role#
This summer internship provides students with the chance to gain practical experience in technical or administrative positions at Ingalls Shipbuilding. You will work within our Cost Estimating and Pricing team. This program is designed to offer hands-on exposure to our operations and may lead to future full-time employment opportunities.
What you'll do#
Your work will involve gaining experience in industrial engineering tasks. You must be prepared to physically access various work sites, including ships currently under construction or overhaul. This work requires the use of vertical and inclined ladders and may involve limited periods of kneeling, stooping, or standing.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university for the fall term following the internship.
- Ability to work a 40-hour week for at least 10 weeks during the summer.
- Must be at least 18 years of age by mid-May.
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check, a physical, and a hair follicle drug screen.
- When applying, you must provide your school name, degree program, major, anticipated graduation date, current academic level, and overall GPA.
