About the role#
The Safety & Quality Co-Op program introduces college students to office and field experiences within the commercial construction profession. You will coordinate safety and health matters on commercial projects to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. This role provides exposure to professional interactions among management, project managers, field workers, and clients.
What you'll do#
- Conduct jobsite safety audits to ensure compliance with standards.
- Attend and contribute to safety meetings, walkthroughs, and weekly toolbox trainings.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent to review safety audit reports and implement necessary changes.
- Use safety management software and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting.
- Perform regular jobsite inspections to document incidents and unsafe conditions.
- Attend pre-work meetings with subcontractors for high-risk activities.
- Update and implement safety, health, accident prevention, first aid, and fire protection programs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college degree program for Safety Management, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Business Administration.
- A desire to work in construction management and learn about the safety industry.
- Ability to recognize hazardous situations and behaviors to implement corrective measures.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Capability to work both independently and within a team environment.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
- This role is classified as safety-sensitive and requires physical tasks such as climbing ladders, working on scaffolding, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings are required.
