About the role#
Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is seeking a Positioning Services Intern to join our team in Calgary. This role focuses on the development and testing of end-to-end GNSS positioning software. You will work with the network processing team to generate GNSS corrections and collaborate with the positioning engine team to apply these corrections to real-time applications. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Develop and test end-to-end GNSS positioning solutions.
- Plan and execute data collections to support research into new and existing technologies.
- Perform formal and exploratory testing, troubleshoot failures, and investigate issues.
- Create test documentation, including designs, specifications, test runs, and results.
- Provide statistical and graphical analyses on performance data and product functionality.
- Develop tools to analyze and visualize positioning and correction performance.
- Manage development environments and maintain monitoring software.
- Update engineering documentation to build system knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Engineering Internship or Co-op program, having completed at least 2 or 3 years of study.
- Current studies in Electrical, Computer, Software, or Geomatics Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Availability for a 12-month work term.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, distributed team environment.
- Capacity to visualize and organize information from complex software systems.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to ask for help when needed.
- Familiarity with GPS, GNSS, INS, estimation methods, and both Windows and Linux environments is considered an asset.
