About the role#
As an intern in the Analytical Engineering Lab, you will support the analysis, testing, and validation of electrical components and hardware systems. You will work alongside experienced engineers to identify risks, evaluate product performance, and help develop reliable solutions. This role focuses on investigating product escalations and performing root-cause analysis throughout the product lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Analyze electrical and electronic components, integrated circuits, and related algorithms.
- Execute test plans for new and existing designs.
- Support validation efforts for electrical tolerances, thermal performance, power consumption, and shock and vibration performance.
- Assist with electromagnetic interference and emissions testing.
- Help conduct physical and root-cause analysis for hardware issues and product escalations.
- Evaluate the reliability of materials, components, and manufacturing techniques.
- Document your findings, test results, and recommendations in technical reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and development partners on cross-functional projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering (preferably with at least three years completed) or a master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering.
- Basic experience with electrical design tools, simulation software, and engineering applications.
- Understanding of electrical and electronic component design, hardware systems, and integrated circuits.
- Familiarity with electrical testing methods and measurement equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and test data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English and clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
