About the role#
We are looking for a motivated intern to join the Slingshot ASIC Firmware and Diagnostic team. This hands-on role involves contributing to firmware development, building diagnostic tools, and supporting testing in a Linux environment. You will work alongside hardware, firmware, and software teams to implement features and resolve technical issues.
What you'll do#
- Write, test, and debug C code for Slingshot ASIC board firmware.
- Develop and maintain Python-based diagnostic tooling, data collectors, parsers, and test utilities.
- Create and maintain Bash scripts for automation, build processes, and test harnesses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement features and solve problems.
- Document your code, test plans, results, and user guides.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the internal knowledge base.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Working level knowledge of C programming, Python, Bash, and Linux.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is hybrid, with a requirement to work on average 2 days per week from an office.
- Locations: Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin or Bloomington, Minnesota.
