You will participate in subsystem architecture design, schematic capture, and layout while managing ECAD libraries. You will work alongside the engineering team to test and debug prototypes, ensuring our systems meet performance and integration requirements.
What you'll do#
- Manage the ECAD library by creating components and reviewing design elements.
- Identify components for designs and evaluate alternative solutions.
- Verify circuit performance through simulation and prototype testing.
- Develop test plans and requirements for new designs while managing test data.
- Test electrical interface integrity across PCBs, sensors, actuators, and communication buses.
- Support the validation and bring-up of low-voltage systems during prototype and production builds.
- Coordinate with firmware, test, and manufacturing teams to ensure system testability and serviceability.
- Participate in design reviews and trade-off analysis for sub-system architectures.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
- At least one term of previous internship experience in an electrical engineering field or a portfolio of hardware projects.
- Experience with circuit simulation and ECAD tools like LTSpice and Altium.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and communication protocols including I2C, SPI, QSPI, UART, and CAN.
- Knowledge of analog circuits, power conversion, and power supply topologies.
- Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other debugging tools.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience with low-voltage systems in high-voltage environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with fieldbus protocols, EMC, UL/IEC standards, and IPC standards for PCB design.
- Experience creating engineering drawings and wiring harness specifications.
- Exposure to firmware development and root cause investigation of electrical systems.
