About the role#
As a Power Electrical Engineer Intern, you will help develop, test, and mature an energy storage product line. You will contribute to the design and assembly of electrical systems that make resilient, scalable energy storage possible. You will work alongside experienced mechanical and electrical engineers who will mentor you and help you develop hardware engineering skills. This role requires a focus on both speed and quality.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, testing, and optimization of energy storage and inverter technologies.
- Build test fixtures and assist in test development.
- Conduct prototype equipment testing.
- Collaborate with the hardware engineering team and other cross-functional members to enhance battery and inverter performance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least two semesters (Freshman year) completed.
- Strong academic performance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, components, and relevant industry principles.
- CAD experience with mechanical assemblies and drawings in SOLIDWORKS.
- Working knowledge of Google Office Suite or Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively in English.
- Safety-conscious mindset with familiarity with electrical and mechanical assembly safety regulations.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with Arduino, C-programming, and soldering.
Location & details#
- Location: On-site at the GigaOne facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Work Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for long periods; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
