About the role#
As a Pullet and Production Intern, you will work alongside the Flock Service, Manure, Maintenance, and Service crews. You will gain a deep understanding of how our pullet and layer sites operate. This role involves analyzing production data, managing improvement projects, and ensuring farm operations meet our standards for safety and efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop project scopes, timelines, and budgets.
- Lead project kick-offs and monitor progress to ensure goals are met.
- Supervise daily production activities and maintain accurate reports.
- Streamline farm site organization and inspect conditions for continuous improvement.
- Promote on-site safety by identifying hazards, supporting compliance training, and coordinating audits.
- Collect and analyze production data to inform project planning.
- Attend daily supervisor meetings to track action items and project status.
- Document project progress through photography and detailed reporting.
- Manage an incremental improvement project from start to finish.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an agriculture-related program such as Animal Science, Poultry Science, Poultry Management, or Agribusiness.
- Previous work experience with animals, people, or machinery. Experience in an agricultural environment is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and maintenance experience are a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a resourceful, action-oriented mindset.
- A commitment to self-development and the ability to learn quickly.
- Note: Due to strict biosecurity regulations, you cannot own or have contact with birds or swine during your internship.

- Location: Saranac, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks).
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
