About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to work on a specific egg water loss study at the Collins, MS Hatchery. You will join our team for an 11-week program from May 17 to July 30, 2027. This role focuses on hands-on project work, data analysis, and professional engagement within our live production operations.
What you'll do#
- Conduct an egg water loss study at the hatchery.
- Collect and interpret data to form hypotheses.
- Recommend long-term solutions based on your findings.
- Present your project results to peers, managers, and senior leaders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Work flexible hours as needed for data collection, which may include occasional overnight travel.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree program.
- Major in Poultry Science, Animal Science, or an agriculture-related field.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- An analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to build professional relationships with mentors and peers.
- Self-motivation and the ability to organize multiple tasks.
- Commitment to following all departmental and company safety protocols, including the use of required PPE.
