About the role#
WMUR, the ABC affiliate in Manchester, New Hampshire, is seeking a Creative Services Intern for the summer of 2026. The Creative Services department manages the branding and promotional development of the station. This internship provides an opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of how a television Creative Services department operates.
What you'll do#
- Learn the fundamentals of writing and producing effective topical news promotion.
- Explore broadcast and digital marketing strategies and the specific responsibilities within the Creative Services team.
- Gain hands-on production experience by assisting with promotional and commercial shoots, both in-house and on location.
- Observe daily newscasts and professional editing sessions.
- Draft topical copy for WMUR, the nightly newsmagazine show Chronicle, and other special news segments.
- Develop an understanding of the station's community outreach through PSA production.
- Apply writing and communication skills within a professional media environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program such as Communications, Media Studies, or Marketing.
- Strong interest in broadcast and digital marketing.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a professional setting.
- Eagerness to learn the technical and creative aspects of television production and copywriting.
