About the role#
Hawaiian Electric is hiring a Summer Intern for the Substation Engineering department in Hilo. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027. You will work on professional projects, receive mentorship, and participate in cross-functional activities to learn about the company.
What you'll do#
- Research and execute an objective-based project with a dedicated mentor.
- Develop a Power BI tool to track and manage corrective maintenance based on incident priority and dates.
- Participate in cross-functional activities and company events.
- Present your achievements and lessons learned to the management team at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an active student at a post-secondary institution.
- Major in Electrical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Must be attending school in Fall 2027 and remain in good academic standing.
- Ability to provide an official digital copy of your transcript.
Location & details#
- Location: Hilo, Hawaii.
- Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- This is an on-site, full-time internship.
