About the role#
Hawaiian Electric offers a summer internship program for students to gain professional experience through project-based work. You will work with a dedicated mentor to complete an objective-based project and participate in cross-functional activities. This is a paid, full-time position located in Kahului, Hawaii.
What you'll do#
- Research and execute an objective-based project with your mentor.
- Take part in cross-functional activities to learn about company operations.
- Present your project deliverables in an open forum.
- Share your achievements and lessons learned with management at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an active student at a post-secondary school.
- Good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Enrollment in classes for Fall 2027.
- Degree pursuit in Environmental Safety and Health, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, or Fire Science.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Submission of an official digital copy of your transcript.

- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Compensation: Starting at $21.00 per hour.
