About the role#
This internship provides a project-based experience within the Distribution Planning team. You will work alongside an individual mentor to research and execute specific objectives. You will also participate in cross-functional activities to learn about the company, including site tours and professional development workshops. At the end of the summer, you will present your findings and project achievements to management.
What you'll do#
- Update transformer equipment ratings related to Loss-of-Life.
- Assist with the approval process for DER systems.
- Work on professional level projects and hands-on technical challenges.
- Collaborate with team members across different functional areas.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Active student status for the Fall 2027 semester.
- Major in Electrical Engineering, with 3rd-year students preferred.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Ability to provide an official digital transcript.

- Location: Honolulu, Hawaii.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position starting at $23.00 per hour.
